Oxford scientists learn how to convert CO2 into jet fuel

A team of researchers from Oxford University took another step towards clean energy - they learned how to convert carbon dioxide into jet fuel.

According to Wired, thanks to the new technology, it will be possible to significantly reduce the negative impact of aviation on the environment, primarily by reducing carbon dioxide emissions, which will be processed into jet fuel. In confirmation of this, the results of laboratory experiments were published in the journal Nature Communication, during which scientists managed to obtain the first few grams of such fuel.

The prospect of such studies is obvious, since the volume of CO2 emissions is constantly increasing, which leads to undesirable climate changes. According to project manager Oskar Meyerink, the best way to use such a system is to start converting carbon dioxide in the atmosphere into useful fuel on an industrial scale.
