The Airbnb rental service has introduced a new program with something like this slogan: "Find housing for 100, 000 people who help fight the coronavirus."
In accordance with it, Airbnb, with the support of owners of various housing, intends to provide a place for recreation for 100 thousand doctors, emergency workers and other structures involved in measures to combat the pandemic and who need to be closer to their place of work.
According to Airbnb, the initiative is analogous to programs adopted in Italy and France, in which 6, 000 landlords offer their homes to doctors, nurses, caregivers and other staff.
This program is an extension of the 2012 Airbnb Open Homes project, which allows hosts to provide housing for those in need in emergencies.
For example, under this program, Airbnb announced its readiness to pay the French, who provided free housing to the above categories of citizens, a bonus of 50 euros in compensation for cleaning costs and cancel all service charges for them. At the same time, not individual apartments, but entire houses can participate in the program. A similar initiative will affect Italy, which has been hit hardest in Europe by the COVID-19 epidemic.
