It just became known: Internet giant Google is indefinitely suspending the implementation of Project Ara, an ambitious project to create the world's first modular smartphone. According to informed sources, in this way, Google intends to restore order among its many hardware projects.
The development of a unique gadget was entrusted to Advanced Technology and Project (ATAP), one of the Google divisions. The unexpected news about the suspension of work caused the disappointment of the entire team, which has already achieved considerable results.
The very idea of a modular smartphone belongs to Dave Hackens. She was once interested in Motorola, which was later bought by Google together with a promising project that received a new name - Project Ara.
However, the same sources are encouraging: modular smartphones have a future, but with other manufacturers, which Google will allow to license the suspended project.
