Sony unveils world's fastest SD cards

Sony is gearing up to launch its latest SD card, which promises to be the fastest in the world. The SF-G series card will be released in March in 32, 64 and 128 GB formats. It will have a read and write speed of 300 MB / s - such parameters, according to Sony, were laid taking into account the needs of 4K photographers.

The card is suitable for filming content in high definition and for transferring large amounts of data to a computer. The company's new card reader, compatible with the USB 3.1 Gen1 interface, is also working for this purpose. By the way, owners of old mechanical hard drives will not be able to take full advantage of the new SD card.

The cards themselves are based on the already existing UHS-II interface and are due to proprietary Sony software for prohibitive speed. At the same time, they are compatible with the company's data recovery programs, are waterproof, resistant to temperature extremes, and are not afraid of shocks and X-rays (as strange as it may sound) radiation. Sony has not yet announced the price of the new cards, but it should be expected that it will be noticeably above average.
