Americans have developed a 110-core processor

The most powerful mobile processor currently has eight cores. This is the Samsung Exynos 5 Octa, which includes four ARM Cortex-A15 cores and four ARM Cortex-A7 cores. But American scientists have already surpassed the South Korean manufacturer by developing a 110-core processor for smartphones and tablets.

During the Hot Chips conference in California, engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) presented their new development - a universal processor called the Execution Migraine Machine. It consists of 110 computational cores, which are located on a 1 x 1 cm crystal.

The new processor is based on a specially designed architecture that allows you to work with large amounts of data. It is manufactured using a 45-nanometer manufacturing process.

Scientists claim that the Execution Migraine Machine can be used not only in smartphones and tablets, but also in computers as a main processor.

True, it is still too early to talk about the appearance of a 110-core processor on the commercial market.
