Algorithm that can predict impending death has been approved in the USA

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of an algorithm that monitors vital signs of patients who indicate the approach of sudden death. We are talking, first of all, about such diseases as heart attack and pulmonary insufficiency. The algorithm was named Wave Clinical Platform and was developed by Excel Medical.

The algorithm captures subtle deviations in the patient's medical parameters and sends alerts about 5 hours before a sharp deterioration in his condition. The system also monitors vital parameters in relation to each other. So, for example, a small jump in blood pressure may not indicate something serious, but in combination with a decrease in blood oxygen saturation or a decrease in breathing rate, it indicates a serious deterioration in the patient's condition.

Artificial intelligence is helpful even in the earliest stages of the disease. Its further development will help accelerate medical research, which will, as a result, help to quickly solve the problem that has arisen. In some cases, AI has already proven to be effective in diagnosing diseases. Moreover, once a diagnosis is made, he will recommend treatment options to doctors.
