Ural scientists will study meteorites found in the ice of Antarctica

Last week, physicists from the Ural Federal University became the owners of a unique collection of 300 meteorites found in the ice of Antarctica during a scientific expedition in 2015-2016.

The ice of the South Pole turned out to be an excellent storage and storage facility for "aliens" from outer space who have flown to Earth for hundreds of thousands of years. To keep them pristine, the priceless cargo had to be transported by sea in special sealed containers.

According to one of the members of the expedition, Mikhail Larionov, the Ural scientists have a lot of work to do to determine the chemical composition and type of space samples. The research results will significantly expand the knowledge about the solar system.
