Mythbusters show host Grant Imakhara dies at 49

Sad news from Hollywood - the favorite of many viewers, the star of the show "Mythbusters" Grant Imahara has passed away at the age of 49.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Imahara died suddenly on July 13 from a cerebral aneurysm. The fact was confirmed by his co-hosts on the program Cary Byron, Tory Belichi and Adam Savage.

Grant received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California. Immediately after graduation, he landed a job at George Lucas' Lucasfilm company. After some time, he moved to Industrial Lighting & Magic (ILM), where he worked on creating special effects for several numbered episodes of the Star Wars movie saga, two parts of the Matrix (Reboot and Revolution), as well as the films Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Van Helsing and The Lost World. : Jurassic Park.

Grant joined the Mythbusters team during the third season, alongside Carey Byron and Tory Belichi. He remained part of the main squad until the end of the 2014 season. Starting next season, Mythbusters returned to their original lineup with lead leads Jamie Heineman and Adam Savage. Imahara, Byron and Belichi have moved on to a new project - their own Netflix show, which is called Project White Rabbit. The show premiered in 2016, but the project was canceled by the creators after a single season.
