South Korean company LG was one of the first to introduce flexible displays. And now, following the screens, she also bent the rechargeable batteries.
Korean chemical giant LG Chem has unveiled curved batteries that will be used in smartphones and tablets, as well as other mobile devices, including smartwatches and augmented reality glasses. The production of new batteries will be launched in November this year.
According to LG representatives, the new flexible batteries were created using innovative proprietary Stack & Folding technology, which reduces the load on internal components. They consist of two batteries.
The curved battery will be installed in the new LG G Flex smartphone, which will receive a curved display. The official announcement of the novelty will take place before the end of this year.
By the way, at the beginning of the week Samsung officially announced the world's first smartphone with a curved display. The novelty was named Samsung Galaxy Round.
