The Swedish company Hövding has presented the 3rd generation Hövding 3 helmet with a unique collar protection system with an airbag that inflates when the cyclist falls.
The Hövding 3 inflates and creates a protective barrier in 0.1 seconds, thanks to sensors inside the collar that monitor the cyclist's movements at a rate of 200 times per second. It works instantly as soon as an extreme situation arises. Research conducted by Stanford University researchers has shown that this "air cushion" technology protects its wearer 8 times more effectively than traditional helmets.
The Hövding 3 comes with a companion smartphone app that allows you to connect it to iOS or Android mobile devices via Bluetooth. The helmet can be purchased from the official Hövding website for $ 310. According to the developers' statistics, today it is used by more than 185, 000 cyclists.
