VR technology has a great future - the decline in prices and the increase in the availability of virtual reality headsets over the past 8 years only confirms this fact. However, this area also has its own champions, striking with special capabilities and cosmic cost.
Czech startup VRgineers has unveiled the $ 5, 800 XTAL headset, which will be available at the Consumer Electronics Show, the world's largest tech trade show in January 2019.
The headset has unique features: two OLED displays Quad HD with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 with a 180-degree field of view. This wide field of view significantly reduces the blur at the edges, which is the Achilles heel of most modern VR headsets. Users will also be able to track their hand position using built-in Leap Motion sensors.
$ 5, 800 is definitely an extremely high price tag. In comparison, the Oculus Rift offers its own standalone headset for just $ 399. Most likely, the developers from VRgineers are targeting professional users, and not ordinary gamers - for example, automobile designers and engineers.
