It has long been rumored that Google has decided to release another wearable gadget, a smartwatch, in conjunction with its Google Glass augmented reality glasses. Once again, the authoritative edition of The Wall Street Journal reports this, citing its own sources.
According to the publication, Google has begun developing its own "smart" watches. And the Korean company LG helps her in this, on the shoulders of which will also lay the production, launch and comprehensive support of the gadget. LG is now making reference smartphones, the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5.
Unfortunately, the technical characteristics of the new watch from Google are still unknown to us. It is only reported that they will run on the Android operating system with the pre-installed Google Now voice service. The device is expected to be released this summer.
Meanwhile, photos of a prototype Google watch have appeared online. As you can see, they bear the logo of Motorola, which until recently belonged to the Internet giant. The watch, according to sources, was codenamed Google Gem and remained only a prototype. Although it is possible that they will be taken as a basis for the development of new Google smartwatches.
